don't believe the hype

the man responsible for dividing india speaks his heart out in his own hand writing around 1916 in a gujarati magazine called "visami sadi" (1916-1920):

at the time of india's independence, he was so keen on division of the land that he kept his terminal illness of tuberculosis a strict secret. this he did so that others who were against the division would not take a time too long to make their decision amp; push back the date of division far beyond his death &, thus, be able to
entirely eliminate the possibility of the division. so the partition took place & he died afterwards on september 11, 1948 - less than just 13 months after!
